England Career

John Terry made numerous appearances for England under 21s during the 2001/02 season, appearing as captain on few occasions. However he was prevented from playing senior international football, as he had been susceptibly involved in an incident with few other professional football players outside a nightclub, while being investigate he was not allowed to play international football, however Terry was cleared of all charges in August 2002 and the ban from international football was immediately lifted. After dazzling performances for Chelsea, John terry made his international debut at the end of the 2002/03 season in June 2003, in a friendly match against Serbia and Montenegro. Towards the end of the Euro 2004 qualifying campaign, terry became a permanent fixture in the starting line up for England. Terry played a large part in England’s Euro 2008 tournament, scoring a penalty in the shoot out against Portugal, however Euro 2004 ended in the same penalty shoot out against Portugal. Terry was outstanding for England during their qualifying matches for the 2006 world cup finals. Terry scored during a world cup warm up match against Hungary, and he was an integral part of England’s starting line up during the 2006 world cup finals. He played in all five of England’s matches in the 2006 world cup finals, and played amazingly especially in their matches against Trinidad and Portugal. Many have tipped John terry to be a future Captain of England’s national football team.
